Construction Staff in Popular Demand
The latest report released by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG has revealed that construction and engineering staff are the most in demand. This is compared to key players such as the IT and accounting industries and is rather unexpected.
The demands of companies for employees in the UK have continued to struggle and in July had been at a nine-month low for all industries. As Bernard Brown, Partner and Head of Business Services at KPMG explains, “The UK job market continued to slow down in July with overall demand for staff rising at the slowest pace in eight months. Surprisingly, engineering & construction is the sector where staff were most in demand.”
This time last year the for construction and engineering industry had one of the lowest demand rates for staff so it has come as a surprise that statistics now show that they are the most sough-after employees.
